UTS: Staff Survey 2007 - Update on priorities identified in the Staff Survey
Since receiving our report on the results of the 2007 Staff Survey, the results have been presented and discussed at both the UTS-wide and Faculty and Divisional levels. Further analysis and a review of the alignment between the Staff Survey results and our current strategic priorities and organisational risks has been conducted. The areas that have been identified for further review and/or action are:
Strengths to Leverage:
- Industry & Professional Engagement – we will embed actions to capitalise on this strength in External Engagement plan.
- Cross-Unit Cooperation – this underpins fundamental capability of collaboration. While UTS scored best in Uni sample on this scale, the result was still in the “Poor” range; so actions to build on this will be embedded in MCU’s Internal communications plans and linked to Leadership development.
Areas for improvement / development:
- Teaching – further analysis has been completed. Action priorities identified will be aligned with our T&L development strategies and LTPF funded projects.
- Facilities – further analysis has been completed and given to FMU who have also fed this into the current review of the Campus Master Plan.
- Community Engagement – further analysis has been completed. Action priorities identified have been embedded in the External Engagement plan.
Confirmation of existing priorities:
- Safety – further analysis has identified specific hot-spots in specific sub-units, these are being investigated and tailored responses developed within the EHS management plans and/or audits.
- Staff Engagement, especially Intention to Stay – further analysis has been completed. Action priorities will be embedded in the People & Organisation Development action plan.
- Change and Innovation – further analysis has been completed and actions embedded in People & Organisation Development action plan.
- Leadership - further analysis has been completed, this has identified specific hot-spots, actions to be embedded in People & Organisation Development action plan and Faculty / Unit action plans.
