Deliberating on the candidates

Once interviews, other selection techniques and reference checks are complete the selection committee takes time to deliberate on the candidates and to make a selection. Use the notes you have taken during the process to help you make a decision about who is the best candidate for the position. Your decision should be based solely on each candidate's ability to meet the selection criteria.

Recommending a candidate for appointment

When the selection committee has finished its deliberations, the convenor completes the Selection Committee Report Form. This form indicates which candidate the committee has recommended for appointment.

The Selection Committee Report form is the official record of the selection process and contains key information about the position and the appointment. It is important that you take time to complete the form correctly, as this is the document you will refer to when providing feedback to candidates or in the event of an appeal.
