Appointments over 12 months
Executive approval is required to recruit fixed term positions over 12 months and continuing roles, as well as the completion of a range of other documentation listed below.
Once you have completed all the documents please send through to your HR Partner. You also need to send electronic copies of the selection criteria, position description or duty statement and draft adverts (if appropriate).
Support and SSG (Senior Staff Group) roles
- A completed and signed Employment Request Form (incorporating the Executive Approval to Fill a Vacancy form)
- An up-to-date and evaluated position description
- Selection criteria
- Draft adverts (if appropriate)
Academic roles
- A completed and signed Employment Request Form (incorporating the Executive Approval to Fill a Vacancy form)
- An up-to-date duty statement
- Selection criteria
- Draft adverts (if appropriate)
Appointments under 12 months and casual appointments
Making casual appointments or recruiting positions under 12 months requires sign off from your Dean or Director. Executive approval is not required.
In order to initiate external advertising on a fixed term or casual position under 12 months please forward the following documentation to your HR Partner.
- Email or signed memo/letter confirming approval to appoint and the use of external advertising. This approval needs to come from a staff member who has delegation to approve casual appointments, usually a Branch Manager or above
- Organisational unit cost code and location
- Copy of display advert.
