Safety & Wellbeing responsibilities

All staff must:

  • take reasonable care of, and cooperate with actions taken to protect, the health and safety of both themselves and others
  • report all accidents, incidents and hazards to their supervisor as soon as is practicable

Records Management responsibilities

Include the following for staff who are Primary Records Contacts.

As the Faculty /Unit Primary Records Contact, coordinate the records management practices in line with the University’s Records Management Program including:

implement maintenance of approved recordkeeping systems,

  • delegate Records Contact responsibilities to appropriate staff,
  • complete self-assessment activities, and
  • develop a review of Records Management Plans.
     

 

Examples:

Example 1

The Administrative Assistant works under general direction. The Administrative Assistant is expected to be able to prioritise the tasks that the position entails.  This requires an ability to plan workflow and develop appropriate procedures to balance competing demands. The Assistant gives advice to students and staff within the Units written procedures and policy guidelines.

Example 2

The technical officer is given general direction on tasks to be completed in the labs by the Senior Engineer and supervising academic. The technical officer provides advice and assistance to students on production problems associated with projects.  All work is done within WorkCover 2000 regulations.  The technical officer must comply with the Faculty of Engineering policies and procedures.

Example 3

The Director of Finance operates within the broad framework of the University's legislation and policy. The Director has financial delegations of $150,000.
