The Financial Assistance for Staff Studying at UTS policy outline the conditions under which financial assistance is granted for staff studying award courses at UTS.
Eligibility
All continuing and part-time staff studying an award course at UTS who are appointed:
- for an indefinite period
- on fixed-term contracts in excess of 12 months
- on successive fixed-term contracts with 12 months unbroken service.
Allowance amount
- HECS courses: a maximum of $1,000 per semester or $2,000 per annum less tax at your marginal rate
- Postgraduate/full fee paying courses directly related to your current position and assist you in carrying out your duties : a maximum of $1,000 per semester or $2,000 per annum less tax at your marginal rate
- Postgraduate/full fee paying courses NOT directly related to your current position : a maximum of $1,000 per semester or $2,000 per annum less tax at your marginal rate
Applications
At the beginning of each semester complete a Study Time and Financial Assistance form and submit it together with evidence of enrolment to your supervisor.
Reimbursement
Upon successful completion of the semester, complete a Financial Assistance Reimbursement form and submit it together with relevant documentation, to your supervisor. Relevant documentation includes:
- Examination results
- Course Tax Invoice/HECS FEE HELP Notice
