Below expectations
Performance at this level is demonstrated by the failure to meet most of the objectives/key tasks to the standard required. The staff member may be subject to unsatisfactory performance provisions as stipulated in the relevant Enterprise Agreement 2010.
Individual objectives
Performance is below the agreed standard and is characterised by some or most of the objective/key tasks not being met.
Overall rating

- minimum acceptable standards required NOT met
- feedback has been negative
Partially met expectations
Performance is considered to be marginal and is characterised by the meeting of some or most of the objectives only after significant coaching, support and/or assistance by the supervisor. Feedback suggests less than satsifactory performance.

Performance is marginal and is characterised by meeting some or most of the objective/key tasks only after significant coaching, support and/or assistance from their supervisor.
Overall rating
- performance has not fully met the minimum requirements of the Workplan
- not all of the objectives achieved (taking external factors into account)
- minimum acceptable standards required NOT met
Met expectations
Performance at this level is demonstrated by acceptable levels of performance and achievement against performance objectives. The vast majority of objectives have been met to the agreed standards. Feedback has generally been positive.
Individual objectives
Performance is acceptable and is characterised by meeting the majority of the objective/key tasks to the agreed standard.
Overall rating
- performance has fully met the minimum requirements of the Workplan
- all objectives have been achieved (taking external factors into account)
- minimum acceptable standards required have been met
Exceeded expectations
The staff member has met all objectives to the agreed standards and in some cases has exceeded expectations. Contribution to the University is significant and well beyond the primary focus of the role. Feedback indicates that overall performance/service/contribution is extremely high and consistently exceeds expectations.
Individual objectives
Performance has consistently exceeded expectations with the objective/key tasks exceeding the required standard.

- all objectives achieved (taking external factors into account)
- minimum standards required exceeded
- additional tasks contributing to the efficiency of the University completed
