Introduction

The Progression of Academic Staff - Level A-B Guidelines (HR Manual 5.23) sets out the process by which eligible academic staff at Level A may seek progression to Level B and the criteria against which they will be assessed. 
 

Application

An application for progression may be lodged to your Supervisor at any time. There is no annual round as is the case for promotion to Levels C-E.

If you are thinking of applying for progression you should:

  1. Check that you are eligible to apply and develop an understanding of the criteria and process for progression ie read Progression of Academic Staff - Level A-B Guidelines
  2. Discuss your intention to apply for progression with your Supervisor. You should ask for your Supervisor's opinion on whether you are ready to apply. 

 Once you have decided to apply, download and complete the Application Cover Page for Progression from Level A-B. You will need to attach the cover page to your application and forward to your Supervisor.

Applicants are encouraged to seek further information and advice from their Supervisors. Staff Services in the Human Resources Unit can also provide information.
