Salary costs for staff are made up of the following components:

  • Salary rate payable according to the applicable Collective Agreement and as specified in individual employment contracts
  • On-costs
  • Provisions for annual and long service leave provisions are calculated each month based on individual staff leave balances and are credited back to the cost centre when staff take leave.
    • Casual staff are not included in calculations of leave provisions as they are not eligible for leave. They receive a salary rate loading (currently 23%) in lieu of leave.
