Hours of work for casual academic staff are set out in their contract of employment signed at the commencement of employment.
The hourly pay rate for casual academic staff who are engaged in lecturing, tutoring and undergraduate clinical nurse education encompasses the following activities associated with the lecture or tutorial:
- face-to-face delivery
- preparation
- marking which takes place during a lecture, tutorial or clinical session
- administration
- consultation with students
